Posting:

  • This board is aimed at a general audience. Posting pornographic or generally offensive text, images, links, etc. will not be tolerated and will lead to a warning.
Posts are to be made in the relevant forum. Users are asked to read the forum descriptions before posting. Posting to the wrong forum will result in the post being moved.
  • Cross-posting within the forums on this site is to be avoided. Cross-posting causes the forum database to increase in size. As the database grows, so does the potential for the forums to load slowly and become bogged down. Users consistently cross-posting topics will be warned, and the thread that was cross-posted will be removed.
  • Members should post in a way that is respectful of other users. Flaming or abusing users in any way will not be tolerated and will lead to a warning.
  • Members are asked to respect the copyright of other users, sites, media, etc. Users re-printing material without permision will receive a warning and their post will be removed.
  • Members agree to indemnify the owners of GoodPaws.org from any liability (including attorney fees) related to the member's violation of this agreement.
  • Members who post their original works of art, photographs, short stories, articles, poems, and the like on GoodPaws.org hold the copyright to their material. Said material may not be redistributed or published without prior authorization from the creator of the material.
Members should respect the bandwidth of other users and sites. The use of image tags ([ img][/ img]) pointing to data stored on third party systems for which the user has not received permission to link to may be removed.
  • Links are permitted in posts. Any links to websites containing inappropriate content will be removed and the member that posted the link will be warned.
  • The Administrator and Moderators reserve the right to edit or remove any post; and lock or delete any topic at any time. The determination of what is construed as indecent, vulgar, spam, inappropriate, etc. is at the discretion of the Administrator and Moderators, not the members.
  • The above forum rules also apply to private messaging. Abuse of the private messaging system may lead to warnings and/or the revokation of private messaging priveleges.
  • If members note an issue which contravenes something in this policy, they are welcome to report it to a Moderator in that forum or the Site Administrator via an email or a Private Message.

Signatures and Avatars:

  • Signatures may contain up to 255 characters of text. Text sizes should be between 9 and 12 (small and normal).
  • Signatures may also include images, but please limit images to only one line. Signatures containing images may also include up to 5 lines of text.
  • Text and images in signatures are subject to the same rules as posts with regards to offensive or inappropriate material.
  • Links are permitted in signatures. Links are within the text and image limits above. Links to offensive websites will be removed.
  • Members are permitted to use the avatar gallery, and link to or upload avatars of their own. Member defined avatars must be no more than 115 x 115 pixels and must not exceed 10kb in size.
  • Avatars are also subject to the same rules as posts with regards to offensive or inappropriate material.
  • Members abusing these rules may be warned and/or lose their avatar/signature priveleges.

Enforcement Policy:

  • GoodPaws.org operates a three strike policy. Members will be warned a maxium of three times for any one offence. If the need arises for a fourth warning, the member may be subject to a temporary ban of up to 3 days.
  • Arguing with the Administrator or Moderator after receiving a warning will result in an additional immediate warning.
  • Members who feel they have been unfairly warned should contact the co-moderator for the forum from which the warning stemmed. If you feel their decision is also unfair, you may contact the Site Administrator. The Site Administrator's decision is final.
  • Any attempt to circumvent a temporary ban will lead to that ban being made permanent. Circumvention includes re-registering under a non-banned username, or changing an IP address to evade an IP ban.
  • An exception to the three strike rule applies when members contact Administrators or Moderators personally - via any method - and post insulting, indecent or vulgar material. Such members may be subject to an immediate permanent ban.
  • Permanent bans are a last resort and much thought is given before implementing them. The Site Administrator and Moderators must agree that a permanent ban is necessary.
